Temperament: Aggressive and fast moving. Nocturnal.
Difficulty: Due to the toxicity of its venom, this scorpion is only for experienced collectors.Identifiable by its yellowish brown, with dark yellow granulated. Considered to be a common house tarantula.
Its sting is venomous and considered medically significant and potentially lethal.
These scorpions live in dry deserts and dry grassland areas. They do not dig deep burrows; they most often use natural crevices or dig shallow holes under rocks. Not recommended for communal due to cannibalism.
Like tarantulas, scorpions should not be handled. Dropping a scorpion can result in death of the scorpion unless it bites you before it's dropped. Then you both have a problem.
