Taxidermy Services
We all dread finding a dead tarantula, especially if we've had it for a while. You may want to consider dry preserving your deceased tarantula so that you can appreciate its beauty indefinitely.
We offer taxidermy services for large tarantulas whereby we disembowel, stuff, and permanently mount the animal inside a quality acrylic display case.
The environment and handling of the deceased tarantula, from death to its arrival at our store, determine the quality of the final taxidermy product. The faster we receive it, the better the chances of success. Alternatively, you can freeze the deceased tarantula until you're ready to preserve it.
It's a good idea to ship via two-day, at a minimum, with "FRAGILE" notated on the box. The deceased specimen should be gently packed in paper towels and surrounded with a lot of bubble wrap to protect against jolting caused by shipping.
Prices are as follows:
-
Taxidermy (preserving) service $75
-
The acrylic display case costs between $20 and $70, depending on the size of the tarantula.

The first step is to remove all liquid matter from the tarantula's abdomen and sternum. These spaces are then stuffed with cotton to restore volume.

The tarantula is then positioned and permanently secured in a high-grade acrylic box, which is selected based on the specimen's size.

We work with great care to minimize denigrating the specimen. However, some hair loss occurs from handling.
