This species thrives in moist to semi-arid environments supported by a gradient habitat starting with moderately wet, the middle being moist, and the opposite end is dry. Will tolerate mild fluctuations in temperature. Good ventilation is required.
Not sexually dimorphic.
AKA "Pill Bug", it rolls into a ball to retain moisture when the habitat is too dry, as well as a defensive posture.
Captive bred. Colonies include various sizes/ages.
