Native Locale: North and South Europe
Reproductive Rate: Moderate (requires sufficient moisture)
    Growth Rate: Slow
    Adult Size: .4" - .6"
Difficulty: A good species for beginning collectors.

A morph of the Armadillidium nasatum and a true albino species lacking any pigmentation. It is identified by its pure white coloring, including its face and eyes (ocelli). Sees only light and dark. The food it eats may affect its coloration.

A faint white/translucent stripe appears down its back from its head to tail.

A grey stripe is its digestive tract.

The square protrusion between its antennae is the "nasatum" or nose. Its tail has a rounded/pointed tip with incurved sides, which is a taxonomic exception to the standard flat tail of the Armadillidium species.

A tolerant, very hardy species that thrives in temperate environments with moderate humidity and moderate ventilation.

Breeding can be hampered by insufficient moisture.

Prefers darkness and will congregate under the bark. Young isopods tend to burrow.

    Not sexually dimorphic.

AKA "Pill Bug", thus rolls into a ball ("arma") to retain moisture when the habitat is too dry, as well as a defensive posture.

Captive bred. Colonies include various sizes/ages.
