Difficulty: Good for beginning collectors. Easy to care for and breed.A large, beefy armadillidium isopod from the family 'Armadillidiidae.' It is identifiable by its silver/grey color and bumpy shell.
Hardy species thrive in warm temperatures with occasional misting. Prefers a gradient habitat starting with wet, the middle being moist, and the opposite end being dry. This species will decline if the habitat is heavily wet.
Not sexually dimorphic.
Very active.
AKA "Pill Bug", thus rolls into a ball to retain moisture when the habitat is too dry, as well as a defensive posture.
Captive bred. Colonies include various sizes/ages.
