Springtails are small, wingless insects that live in moist soil and decaying plant material. They are essential to maintaining a healthy bioactive habitat, as they control mold, bacteria, and fungi that naturally build up in moist environments. They don't bite or sting, and are great companions for your isopods.

Like isopods, Springtails dehydrate quickly in the absence of humidity.

Female Springtails can reproduce sexually and non-sexually (without a male).

Springtail populations fluctuate to reflect the amount of food available. If the levels of decaying materials in the habitat are high, the Springtail population is more prolific.

We sell Springtails in 4-ounce cups with moss (approximately 100 Springtails per cup).
