A red morph of the grey and white Cubaris sp. Panda King. Consequently, this isopod is also called Curbaris sp. 'Red Panda King'.

Identifiable by its red and white banded carapace.

Very hardy species thrive in moist climates (high humidity) and damp soils but are not excessively wet. Prefers a gradient habitat starting with moderately wet, the middle being moist, and the opposite end is dry. Good ventilation is critical.

Bold and outgoing. Likes to burrow.

Sexually dimorphic. Males are generally larger with broader pleopods. Females have a slightly wider body shape, which allows them to carry and protect their young.

AKA "Pill Bug", thus rolls into a ball to retain moisture when the habitat is too dry, as well as a defensive posture.

Captive bred. Colonies include various sizes/ages.
