Native Local: Honduras, Nicaragua, northeastern Costa Rica

Adult Size DLS: 5  - 6 inches
Lifespan: Females = 20 years / Males = 5 years
Growth Rate:  Medium
Temperament: Calm, hardy, and easy to care for. Very fast moving and will kick hairs.
Difficulty: A good specimen for beginning collectors.

 

A plump body T with a golden-bronze sheen due to longer gold bristles long that have a characteristic curl to them giving them their name.

Terrestrial, burrowing species require a deep substrate for tunnels.

Venom is mild and may cause allergic reactions depending on sensitivity level.
