    Native Locale: Argentina and Paraguay

    Growth Rate: Medium
    Lifespan: Females=20 years   Males=5-6 years
    Temperament: Calm demeanor and spends alot of time on top of substrate.
    Difficulty:  Good for beginning collectors.

     

    One of the largest tarantulas. Identified by its gold/bright yellow leg stripes. 

    As a defense flicks urticating hairs (Type III) and can bite (has very large fangs). Its venom is not considered medically significant.

    This T needs to burrow, so sufficient substrate must be provided.
