They tend to be skittish rather than defensive, preferring to retreat into their hide. They are incredibly fast and can teleport when threatened. Their bite is considered medically significant.
Spiderlings like to burrow, so sufficient substrate needs to be provided. After reaching 1.5" - 2" in size, they spend most of their time on top of their web.
Sexually dimorphic - Males have longer legs, and females have duller colors.
