Temperament:  Skittish, defensive. Its venom results in severe pain and mild numbness in the affected area, but it is not typically lethal to humans.

Skittish and defensive, using their large pedipalps (pincers) to attack, more than their tails.

Like tarantulas, scorpions should not be handled. Dropping a scorpion can result in death of the scorpion unless it bites you before it's dropped. Then you both have a problem.
