A species of bird spider displaying black coloration contrasted with hues of light browns and reds.

This is an opportunistic burrower, so sufficient substrate (7" - 8") is needed. Spends most of its time in its burrow.

Not social/communal.

If provoked, its defensive behavior is to bob its abdomen up and down as a first warning. Further provocation results in it circling while kicking its hind leg hairs toward the threat. This T also bites.

Its venom potency is not known.

Not sexually dimorphic.
