A coastal isopod from the Porcellionidae family. Small, flat-bodied with contrasting brown, grainy colors. It has large, dark eyes.
Porcellio lamellatus = little pig composed of or arranged in layers or thin plates
Active at night, sheltering from extreme heat and dryness of their habitats either in burrows they dig or by vertical migration.
Prefers humidity,
Not sexually dimorphic.
AKA "Sowbug," thus cannot roll into a ball.
