Porcellio scaber = "rough pig" (due to bumps on its carapace)
A large cosmopolitan isopod is identified by its streaks of black and red. A mutation that does not occur in nature.
Prefers a warm, semi-arid environment and an extensive moisture gradient, starting with one side of the enclosure being moist, the middle being mostly dry, and the opposite side being bone dry. Occasional misting, but not wet.
Not sexually dimorphic.
AKA "Sowbug", thus cannot roll into a ball.
