Growth Rate: Medium
Temperament: Calm, hardy, and easy to care for. Very fast moving and will kick hairs.
Difficulty: A good specimen for beginning collectors.A plump body T with a deep, velvety black body highlighted by bright red hairs on the abdomen.
When defensive, will use urticating hairs (types I & III) and can bite. Venom is not considered medically significant.
Needs deep substrate to burrow its tunnels.
T. vagans is considered vulnerable to extinction (per Wikipedia).
